Since I sailed in my first boat as a kid - it was a home-built cat sailboat, it scared me shitless,
I have always wanted to design and build my own boat. A real man's boat.
My first love has always been sailing, but having spent a lot of time in Marina Del Rey, California,
one gets used to the windless days, and most of my sailboats still have brand new mains, and
worn-out main engine. Such is a perfect world. So I reneged and decided to go power. Big Power
Something that would knock the sox off the average Joe, and be totally awesome in every aspect.
I did want to follow the KISS principle - Keep It Simple, Stupid, but with a twist

It did have to be very light, very powerful, all the creature comforts, and be a real head-turner.
Like a topless Fly Yellow Ferrari GTO.

To this end I have dreamed & plotted & planned, even committed to paper a lot of design ideas,
notes & work. Also managed to get my head around some fairly serious boat design software -
primarily in the hull design of the boat... which I consider to be the most critical if we are to achieve
the desired goals, speeds & comfort levels we have planned.  Being quick is critical mass in my book.
It always gives one an option of a remote safe harbor.
This is not an ocean crosser folks - this is a hedonistic, cerebral experience at its very best.

At+80' LOA, all 5083/5086 aluminum alloy - it promises to be exceptionally light - if there is a part
you dont like, get the Sears chainsaw out, weld in the new, back in the water by cocktail hour.
The motors - aha -  here we have also gone out on another tangent and have managed to secure
2 x Rolls Royce Gas Turbines that produce 1500HP each. At 500lb each, instead of 22,000lb for
an equivalent MTU diesel lump setup, we are shaving 50% of the boat gross tonnage here.
We all understand power-to-weight ratios, especially coming from the sail racing fraternity off MDR
where one learns to develop horsepower out of simple breezes.

The RR Gnome GT's will be coupled to a pair of Arneson ALT8 surface piercing drives, that will hook
up to a custom design & built joystick helm system, which will be operated via 802 wireless interfaces,
running of an embedded Linux system, backed by a separate wired redundant system, JIC!!
Added to the control system will be a fully automated boat system - also Linux - which will run the entire
boat - from RO potable water maker, ice maker, AV centre - in essence - everything

With power being of the essence we need to conserve everywhere

Solar, wind, hydro

Redundant system that will be Linux embedded, with all the discrete logic controls
